The PowerMix Model PDM-10 from Ross, Charles & Son offers high-shear mixing for hard-to-mix applications with low flowability. The mixer combines high-speed dispersion with planetary stirring action making it suitable for heavy pastes and slurry-like applications involving a considerable amount of powders that need to be wetted out and dispersed uniformly.

The 10-gallon model features interchangeable mix vessels and an additional sawtooth blade on each disperser shaft, which doubles the shear input capacity of the mixer, according to the company. A rectangular stirrer orbits the vessel, exposing the entire batch contents to the shearing action of the dispersers.

Patented high viscosity blades are available for more viscous applications prone to climbing up the stirrer. The blades offer a helical curvature that pushes product forward and downward. Fully automated programmable logic controller recipe controls and data acquisition systems are also available for optimal mixing results, as stated by the company.
