CPhI Pharma Awards Finalists Announced

Tonight the winners of the CPhI Pharma Awards will be revealed at a networking reception, which will be held at 17.30 at the North Entrance of the Feria de Madrid. Awards will be given out for the best pharma innovation, best sustainable packaging and best sustainable stand design.

Best Pharma Innovation

This category will recognise innovations that are viable on a commercial scale. This year’s finalists are:

  • Merck Millipore’s bimodel silica used as a drug delivery platform
  • Linhardt’s MULTIFLEX collapsible tube technology
  • Chongqing Carelife Pharm. Co.’s Alprostadill Dried Emulsions for Injection
  • Haemopharm Healthcare’s NIV need-free vial closure
  • BioCLin’s Multi-Oral Remin reminseralisation gel for application in the oral cavity.

All finalists will be presenting their technologies to a judging panel at stand 5F24 in Hall 5 on Tuesday 9 October from 10.00 until midday.

Best Sustainable Packaging

This is a new category for the awards, created in light of the fact that the industry is becoming more aware of the environmentally impact of its products. The finalists are:

  • Top Clean Packaging Group for its UNICADOSE plastic vials
  • August Faller’s Eco | Save | Pack carton
  • MWV Healthcare’s Shellpak Renew adherence enhancing drug packaging.

Presentations will be given to the judging panel at the InnoPack Speakers Corner in Hall 10, Stand 10F72. The presentations will take place on Tuesday between 10.00 and midday.

Best Sustainable Stand Design

For this aware, one exhibitor will be recognised for their efforts to minimise the environmental impact of their stand.

"Sustainability has been a key driver of our business ethos at UBM Live for quite some time. As such, we want to ensure that this commitment to sustainability is evident in not only the set up of the event, but also through our awards series, so it is fitting that two of the 2012 CPhI Pharma Award categories celebrate and encourage sustainability," Andrew Pert, brand director of UBM, said in a statement. "Our recent 2012 Madrid registrant survey shows that 92% of respondents rate sustainability as important to the future development of their company. Furthermore over 73% of these respondents have already built sustainability into their policy. Sustainable business is not a trend. It is a new way to do business in a responsible manner."

Tuesday’s presentations are free to attend for all exhibitors and visitors. The winners will be announced at a networking reception and rewards ceremony, which will be held from 18.00 at the North Entrance of the venue.
