More than 850 pharmaceutical machinery and equipment manufacturers from 20 countries, including 200 first-time exhibitors, will display their technologies at P-MEC China at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC), Shanghai, China, from June 20–22, 2018.

The trade show, hosted by UBM and UBM Sinoexpo, is co-located with CPhI China, InnoPack, LABWorld, EP & Clean Tech, and P-Logi. P-MEC China will feature equipment and machinery for pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging, as well as for laboratories, cleanrooms, and intelligent automated systems.

Event organizers noted in a June 5, 2018 press statement that the pharmaceutical machinery and equipment market in China is experiencing rapid growth, driven by a thriving domestic pharma industry and a recent commitment to advanced technologies and modernization. Due to the demand for domestic machinery, the floor space at the event has been increased by 12% to over 32,000 sq. meters.

P-MEC announced plans for an Intelligent Plant Zone, which will show developments in automation equipment and information systems. China is currently pursuing a “Made in China 2025” initiative, the organizers noted, and is investing to move to improve manufacturing facilities and machinery.

Technology transfer, risk assessment, green solutions for emissions treatment, and pharmaceutical production quality are other topics that will be addressed. More than 100 experts are expected to give insights during the International Summit for Pharma Packaging and Drug Delivery Systems 2018.

CPhI, P-MEC, and Pharmaceutical Technology are UBM brands.
