Wourld Courier's Climate Optimisation Research & Engineering (CORE) Lab near Cologne, Germany, will enhance package evaluation and validation.

World Courier, an AmerisourceBergen company, launched its Climate Optimisation Research & Engineering (CORE) Labs to help pharmaceutical manufacturer clients evaluate, validate, and select the right climate-controlled packaging solutions for their specific needs, the company announced on August 11, 2015.

The new solution center aims to increase data-backed visibility of the quality and applicability of all major packaging solutions on the market; provide recommended combinations of the right packaging for the right transport route; and develop new packaging solutions with industry partners in situations where customer needs require novel solutions. Based outside of Cologne, Germany, CORE Labs is staffed by temperature-control experts and has a validated climate chamber that is capable of simultaneously testing up to three, pallet-sized containers.

“CORE Labs is more than simply a center of excellence for packaging-it’s the first chance that shippers have ever had to gather end-to-end insights on how different packaging solutions truly perform,” said John Butler, president of World Courier. “We will be able to use our commercial-grade climate chamber to test packaging before it gets implemented and then verify those results across hundreds of transport lanes. CORE Labs will allow shippers to make more informed and-ultimately-more cost-efficient decisions across their entire portfolio of specialty logistics needs.”
