SICK introduced the SICK W4F line of miniature smart sensors designed to reach next-generation detection performance while including new optical technologies to solve typical pharmaceutical sensing challenges. Comprised of eight different sensor types, the sensors each feature a 16-mm x 40-mm x 12-mm housing, BluePilot push-turn pinpoint alignment, on-sensor status display, and machine integration options for multiple application regardless of available mounting space.
The sensors are divided into two ranges, Optical Experts and Optical Standards. New additions within the Optical Experts group include the SICK W4F MultiSwitch for detecting objects while upright or on their sides; the W4F Foreground Suppression for detecting flat products and blister packs; the W4F V-Optic for detecting mirror-reflective or completely transparent products; and the SICK W4F DoubleLine to detect components with uneven surfaces, recesses, holes, perforations, grids, or grooves. The Optical Standards range features the new W4F Narrow-beam sensor for detection of jet-black objects with a remission of less than 1%.
