Thermo Scientific TruTools chemometrics package extends the capabilities of the portable TruScan RM Raman Analyzer.

Thermo Scientific TruTools chemometrics package extends the capabilities of the TruScan RM Raman instrument, allowing users to build customized models for both qualitative and quantitative sample predictions. The Raman analyzer can be used for incoming raw material identification and finished product inspection. It allows non-contact analysis through plastic bags, glass conainers, blister packs, and clear gel caps. The new, integrated chemometrics feature enables faster, more informed decisions at the point of need, leading to faster process times.

The chemometrics package uses Eigenvector Research Inc.’s SOLO standalone chemometrics software. Advanced TruScan RM users can customize their acquisition parameters, including number of scans, exposure time, and laser power, then export the scan data in a SPC file format. This data is imported into SOLO, where users can build custom models that can then be deployed onto the TruScan RM handheld analyzer. Advanced analysis capabilities include quantifying material components and customizing methods for specific requirements.
