Laser-marking speed exceeds 410,000 pharmaceutical pills per hour.
Lasers are used in the marking of unique identification (e.g., text, logos, graphics, and barcodes) on pharmaceutical packaging and for direct pill marking. Laser-marking of pills is simple and high speed, without the solvents needed for traditional pill marking methods. The LMCP-100 Extreme Laser from Photoscribe Technologies micro-marks pills at speeds exceeding 410,000 pills per hour. The laser has the ability to serialize and change a mark on the fly during the marking process. The speed and flexibility allow the user to change marks based on batch number or even down to the single pill level.
