Malvern Instruments will acquire the MicroCal business from GE Healthcare Life Sciences.
Malvern Instruments has entered into an agreement with GE Healthcare Life Sciences to acquire MicroCal, GE’s microcalorimetry business. The acquisition, which is subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to complete in the third quarter of 2014. Financial terms were not disclosed.
MicroCal differential scanning calorimeters and isothermal titration calorimeters are used in areas from basic research to the discovery and development of small molecules, biotherapeutics, and vaccines. MicroCal will be located in Northampton, MA.
