The OPAX opacity monitoring sensor from EMX Industries verifies quality of packaging in real time.
The OPAX opacity monitoring sensor from EMX Industries is an automated, light-sensing system that screens packages for acceptable quality in real time and helps control production equipment. The automated system inspects 100% of packages, compared to labor-intensive visual batch control, which relies on statistical sampling.
Control and verification of a light barrier in pharmaceutical packaging is crucial, because pharmaceuticals may be degraded by the amount of light (both visible and non-visible) that passes through them, shortening their shelf life. The OPAX opacity sensor verifies the opacity of packaged goods while outputting a signal to remove the defective unit from the line. The system can be used for various types of bottles and containers.
