Bio-Rad StarBright Dyes for Flow Cytometry Offer Enhanced Resolution

Made up of Bio-Rad’s validated flow antibodies, the dyes offer maximal brightness and improved resolution of populations and low-density antigens for simple integration into multiplex panels.

StarBright Blue 700, StarBright Violet 440, and StarBright Violet 610 Dyes from Bio-Rad Laboratories are fluorescent nanoparticles designed for flow cytometry.

Made up of Bio-Rad’s validated flow antibodies, the dyes offer maximal brightness and improved resolution of populations and low-density antigens for simple integration into multiplex panels. Benefits of the dyes include:

  • Resistance against photobleaching and stability with minimum lot-to-lot variation for consistent and reproducible staining
  • Works with all common staining buffers, including special polymer dye staining buffers
  • No loss of signal in fixation
  • Narrow excitation and emission profiles for enhanced resolution in new and existing flow cytometry experiments.

“StarBright Dyes offer exceptional brightness with specific excitation and emission, allowing researchers to build brighter flow cytometry panels to enable better resolution of positive populations from background without the need for special buffers,” said Mike Blundell, Bio-Rad product manager, Life Science Group, in a Nov. 2, 2020 press release. “The unique profile of these dyes combined with Bio-Rad’s high-quality antibodies provides flexibility and offers a reliable alternative for incorporation into flow cytometry protocols.”
