Colorcon to Open Film Coating Manufacturing Facility in Brazil

The new facility will produce GMP film coating productions for the pharmaceutical and nutritional markets in South America.

Colorcon announced on May 4, 2016 that it has invested in a new film coating manufacturing plant in Indaiatuba – São Paulo State, Brazil, the company said in a press announcement. Construction on the facility is scheduled for completion by October 2016 with the production of commercial scale product scheduled for January 2017, the company said. Colorcon wrote the new facility will produce GMP film coating productions for the pharmaceutical and nutritional markets in South America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The new facility will aid in the formulation and development of pharmaceutical products through the company’s Technical Service Laboratory, which is already established in Cotia, São Paulo. The Cotia location was opened in 2000, and provides samples and applications support.
