Copley Scientific-a manufacturer and provider of test instrumentations for pharmaceutical dosage forms-has officially opened its newly expanded headquarters in Colwick, United Kingdom.
Manufacturer and provider of test instrumentation for pharmaceutical dosage forms, Copley Scientific, has officially opened its newly expanded headquarters, located in Colwick, United Kingdom, with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 30, 2018.
Local member of parliament (MP), Vernon Coaker, performed the formal duties for the official opening, which has come a little more than 18 months after breaking ground on the new site. The expansion and refurbishment of the building have been performed in response to company growth.
"Copley has [remained] relevant and responsive to the needs of a pharmaceutical industry that has changed beyond all recognition since the 1940s, when the company was founded," stated Coaker during the ceremony, according to a news release. "From its origins as a supplier to local businesses Copley has become a global leader in its chosen field, directly supporting the development of novel drug products that have a transformative impact on the day-to-day lives of so many people."
Copley Scientific, which began as a laboratory glassware supplier to the local pharma industry, was founded in 1946 by Frank Copley. Since that time, the company has transitioned into pharmaceutical test equipment with a growing emphasis on inhaler testing since the 1980s. Currently, more than 85% of the company’s products and services are exported but most of the company functions, such as manufacturing and assembly, are still in the United Kingdom.
"Copley illustrates that with the right blend of agility, engineering excellence, and customer service, UK companies can compete extremely effectively in the global marketplace," added Coaker. "I’m particularly impressed with the new product development and manufacturing facility and the customer training and entertainment suite. It is very clear that Copley has laid the firmest of foundations for future growth and I wish the company every success."
