Vac-U-Max received “atmosphères explosibles” or equipment for potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX) approval for three product ranges of compressed-air-powered vacuums: the CD series for combustible dusts, FL series for flammable liquids, and SR series for submerged recovery applications such as reactive metal powders from 3D printing and explosives used in ordnance production. According to the company, the vacuums underwent full third-party testing process rather than the self-certifying option allowed by ATEX standards. The vacuums are also UL (formerly Underwriters Laboratories) complaint.
