An LIMS system enables a COVID-19 testing center for employees at their workplace.
LabVantage Solutions, a laboratory information management system provider based in Somerset, NJ, has a COVID-19 laboratory information management system (LIMS) solution that can be used for companies to improve employee health and safety in the workplace.
According to July 22, 2020 press release, a global consumer packaged goods (CPG) company has utilized the LIMS solution to open an in-house COVID-19 testing center where employees can be tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. Employees showing signs and symptoms of the virus, or those who request a test, can be scheduled for an appointment using the system.
LabVantage’s COVID-19 LIMS solution lets health professionals schedule, collect samples, test, track, and report results, the press release said. It comes preconfigured to prepare sample requests, label sample specimens, and track patient and sample data while following privacy and security protocols, and it handles results and reporting in a single interface.
