Optibrium, MSD Enter Cheminformatics Collaboration

Optibrium has entered into a cheminformatics collaboration with MSD (known as Merck & Co. in the United States).

Drug discovery software developer, Optibrium, has entered into a collaboration with MSD (known as Merck & Co. in the United States) for the integration of Optibrium’s software into MSD’s drug discovery infrastructure.

According to a Nov. 10, 2020 press release, the agreement covers the integration of Optibrium’s StarDrop software as a central component of MSD’s cheminformatics infrastructure. The resultant combination of Optibrium’s software with MSD’s in-house capabilities is expected to improve cycle times, efficiency, and productivity of drug discovery.

“We are delighted to enter this collaboration to contribute to MSD’s world-leading cheminformatics infrastructure,” said Dr. Matthew Segall, Optibrium’s CEO, in the press release. “We look forward to working together to advance new tools based around StarDrop to further refine our compound design platform.”
