Shimadzu’s Nexera UC Wins R&D 100 Award
The Nexera UC Unified Chromatography System from Shimadzu Scientific Instruments was recognized with an R&D100 award.
Shimadzu Scientific Intstruments has announced that its Nexera UC Unified Chromatography system had received an R&D magazine 100 Award, from R&D magazine identifying the system as one of the most technically significant new products of the year in the analytical and testing category.
The Nexera UC system combines supercritical fluidic extraction with supercritical fluid chromatography, eliminates the need for sample pre-treatment, and reduces the possibility of human error during analysis, the company reported in a Nov. 23, 2015 announcement.
According to the magazine, the Nexera UC takes five minutes to analyze pesticides in food and has a high target analyte recovery rate.
In selecting the Nexera UC for the award, R&D magazine reported that the system’s automated technology opens up new analytical opportunities in many fields, including drug discovery and delivery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and cleaning validation.
