ABEC Expands Equipment Supply Capability

The company is certified as a manufacturer of pressure vessels and components for use in China.

On Aug. 23, 2018, ABEC, a global provider of integrated solutions and services for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, announced that its manufacturing facility in Kells, County Meath, Ireland, has received certification from the People’s Republic of China as a qualified manufacturer of pressure vessels and components for use in China.

According to the company, the Kells site is the company’s second facility to obtain its China manufacture license (CML); its Springfield, MO facility obtained its CML in 2010. The Kells facility was granted a CML after an audit of its vessel engineering, manufacturing, and quality processes by the China Special Equipment Inspection & Research Institute.

The company reports that it has been investing in China for more than 10 years to support the expansion of China’s biotech industry, and pressure vessels are critical components of the systems used to manufacture biopharmaceuticals. The CML for Kells allows the company to provide fully-compliant systems from the United States and Europe, ensuring consistent and flexible supply in China, as well as supporting foreign companies who are establishing manufacturing facilities in China, as stated by ABEC.
