The Concentrating Pipette Select from InnovaPrep is a small automated benchtop instrument that can concentrate contaminates from large volumes of liquids for improved detection. The instrument allows for contamination screening of liquid samples up to 5L and lets users choose from six versions of interchangeable, high-flow filtered pipette tips that feature different specifications to concentrate proteins, viruses, DNA, bacteria, whole cells, fungal spores, or other particles. Recovered particles are delivered in seconds and ready for analysis using user method of choice, according to the company.
Applications for the pipette include biological and particulate contamination monitoring in the environment, as well as monitoring the integrity of various ingredients including water, intermediate products such as cell culture media, and finished products including parenteral fluids and compounded drugs.
According to InnovaPrep, when used as a front-end to rapid molecular methods for quality assurance/quality control monitoring, the instrument allows for sample-to-answer within a single shift, improving detection of trace contamination.
