Exhibitors and visitors interested in the scientific progress in the pharmaceutical sector find a huge selection of lectures in the ACHEMA congress: pharmaceutical production is covered in every aspect in an all-week series of lectures. There are sessions on single-use technologies as well as on analytics, reaction engineering, plant control and bioprocesses. A special course of lectures featured on Monday dealt with Advanced Pharmaceutical Technology, while sessions dedicated to water technology, mixing and separation and on plant components complement the 360° coverage of all pharma-related aspects. Partner and guest events from renowned organisations like the "Automation Dialogue" of NAMUR, ARC Advisory Group and ZVEI round off the offering.
In the exhibition group pharmaceuticals, packaging and storage techniques in Halls 3.0 and 3.1 alone comprise about 400 exhibitors. More than 660 exhibitors show the latest trends in laboratory and analytical equipment in Halls 4.1 and 4.2., and equipment starting from pumps, compressors, valves and fittings with almost 1,000 exhibitors in halls 8.0, 9.1 and 9.2 and 11.0 to instrumentation, control and automation with more than 300 exhibitors in hall 11.1 covers the whole pharmaceutical value chain. One of the most relevant trends is new automation and process analytics technologies. The innovations in online analytics change the relationship between quality control in production and classical laboratory analytics, said Mathis Kuchejda of the German trade association SPECTARIS at a press conference. Process analytics allow for continuous process optimisation, while crucial validation and control functions are performed in the laboratory. Another major issue in the pharma sector is secure labeling which is addressed by a number of exhibitors in the packaging group.
Dr. Thomas Scheuring, CEO of DECHEMA Ausstellungs-GmbH, said: “There are several reasons for ACHEMA’s continuing success. It is a meeting point for stakeholders along the whole value chain, from the laboratory right through to packaging – and, of course, every process step in between. Thus, you get a complete picture of the latest innovations and can discuss them in context. In addition, we bring researchers, developers and users together.
