Vetter Plans Expansion in Illinois
The company plans to purchase and develop an 18-acre site in Des Plaines, Illinois.
During a meeting held on July 12, 2016, Vetter Pharma shared its potential plan to purchase and develop an 18-acre site located in Des Plaines, Illinois. According to the company, the intention of this expansion is to offer its global customer base a US manufacturing opportunity.
For this project, Vetter plans to invest approximately $320 million in construction and site improvements in a more than 10-year period. Once it has reached its final expansion stage, the 18-acre site would include 1,138,237 square feet of facility space. If approved, the facility would be the company’s second US manufacturing site. The Des Plaines facility would lead to the possible creation of between 400–500 jobs by the final expansion stage, Vetter noted.
