The Zeta Plus Encapsulated Filter System from diversified technology company 3M is a disposable depth filtration system for cell culture clarification or downstream impurity removal. It consists of a small system suited to lab or pilot scale production and a large system for production scale biomanufacturing. Both comprise a filter holder, disposable manifolds, and a flexible number of capsule filters. The ergonomically designed large filter holder can be pivoted between the horizontal and vertical position to allow convenient loading and unloading at waist height, as well as minimal footprint during filtration and reduced fluid spills. Two capsule configurations are available for use with the system: the 0.23 m2 capsule is designed for use with the small holder and the 1.6 m2 capsule is designed for use with both holders, offering a high degree of process flexibility. The latter has a CAM locking mechanism for a fast, easy, robust capsule-to-capsule connection.
