Dr. Paul Lohmann® has recently developed Iron(III) Polymaltose Complex and Iron(II) Bisglycinate as active pharmaceutical ingredients. These products are available including API documentation (DMF/ASMF) for the registration of a medicinal drug at the health authorities.

Iron(III) Polymaltose Complex and Iron(II) Bisglycinate are mainly used to treat iron deficiency anemia (1, 2). Both Iron APIs are known for their high bioavailability and have the advantage of high patient compliance due to less side effects related to the upper gastro intestinal tract (1,3). Moreover, there are studies indicating the application of Iron(III) Polymaltose Complex as a phosphate binder to treat hyperphosphatemia (4).
