The 9th AchemAsia is going to take place in Beijing, PR China, from May 13-16, 2013. This spin-off of ACHEMA was established 20 years ago and has since become a major meeting point for the Asian process industry. It is jointly organized by DECHEMA and CIESC with the support of a number of national and international partners. AchemAsia offers a platform for participants from all areas of the process industries located close to the fast-growing centres of production and innovation in Asia. Thus it complements ACHEMA which remains the undisputed global flagship attracting an increasing number of Chinese and South-East-Asian exhibitors.
At the last show in 2010, 413 exhibitors from 24 countries presented their innovations, making AchemAsia the most international event for the process industry in Asia. With 190 exhibitors, China accounted for the largest group, followed by Germany (118), France (23) and the US (11). The exhibitors also commended the internationality of the visitors. Overall, the exhibition and congress attracted 12,453 visitors to the new China National Convention Center. Among the 89 lectures, the plenary lectures and the sessions on water treatment, clean energy and biorefinieries as well as the exhibitors' presentations were met with especially high interest.
Sustainability in energy generation and production were in general leading topics. These issues are also in the focus of China's research and development efforts.
