Colorcon Acquires BASF’s Kollicoat IR Coating Systems

Colorcon Acquired BASF’s Kollicoat IR Coating System product line, which includes currently customer business, and inventory.

On May 25, 2016 Colorcon announced that it has acquired BASF’s Kollicoat IR Coating Systems product line, including its current customer businessand inventory. This will extend Colorcon’s existing film coating product line. Final closure of the transaction is subject to review of the Brazilian competition authorities. After completion of the transaction, Colorcon will serve all Kollicoat IR Coating Systems customers.

Colorcon recently opened a film coating manufacturing facility in São Paulo State, Brazil. Construction on the facility is scheduled to complete in October 2016, with the production of commercial-scale product scheduled for January 2017, the company said. The facility will produce GMP film coating productions for the pharmaceutical and nutritional markets in South America.
