Huntingdon Life Sciences (HLS) and Harlan Laboratories have announced that the combined companies will be called Envigo (pronounced En-vee-go). The new name will be launched later in 2015.

According to a company statement, the letters “E” and “N” come from “enhance, enrich and enable.” “VIGO” originates in “vigorous and invigorate”, and the Latin word “vita” meaning “life.”

The combined organization has 3800 employees and sales approaching $500 million.
