The Midilab RC is Diosna’s modular laboratory equipment that offers a fluid bed and a tablet coater module. With the Midilab RC the company presents at Achema fair a solution for a flexible production, which is one of the focal topics of Achema 2018. Different batch sizes, rapid change between the modules without tools and flexible installation are just some of the benefits. Along with the flexible production, the focus is also on convenient operation. A swivelling and tilting operator terminal with stainless steel housing allows a flexible adjustment for the operator. Each module as well as the basic unit are moveable and fitting trough standardized doors. Furthermore, the air control and regulation technologies are located in the housing of the base unit. The front side is designed as a work bench to provide suspensions.
The picture is completed by the variety of processes. While sugar and film coating can be done in the three different drums of the coater module, the fluid bed module enable efficient granulation and coating via top-, tangential- or bottom spray in four different product bowls.

The Role of On-Demand Manufacturing and Derisking in Accelerating Early Clinical Trial Success
June 4th 2025Small pharmaceutical companies are constantly seeking innovative solutions to streamline early clinical trials. Adaptive clinical trials offer important benefits to sponsors and patients, both from a commercial and ethical standpoint. These trials offer flexibility and efficiency, especially in the early stages, where trial protocols can be adjusted based on interim data, such as introducing new doses or modifying participant sample size. However, adjusting manufacturing demand during an adaptive trial can be complicated, and strict regulatory requirements present significant challenges. On-demand manufacturing provides a robust solution, allowing for real-time supply and demand adjustments and improved trial flexibility. This paper explores how on-demand manufacturing meets the operational needs of adaptive trials and aligns with regulatory expectations.
