The company engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of infection prevention, contamination control, microbial reduction, surgical and critical care support products and services for healthcare, pharmaceutical, scientific, research, industrial, and governmental customers worldwide.

STERIS Life Sciences sells a wide range of equipment and detergents, disinfectants and process indicators to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies in addition to research institutes. The business has experienced tremendous growth internationally and is looking to add resources to support this growth.

The position:
In order to support the commercial team in Europe, STERIS Life Sciences will hire a Technical Service Manager (Formulated Chemistries). This is a new position that will be part of the global team and will report into the Technical Service Director who is based in the US.

The Technical Service Manager will be home based conveniently near an international airport in Europe, and will work very closely with and become a strong technical resource for both the sales team as well as for key customers. The responsibilities will include development and execution of STERIS and industry affiliated presentations and seminars, preparation and publication of technical literature and articles, and participation in industry task groups and technical committees. STERIS has an excellent reputation for the quality of its technical support for customers, and is keen to build on this reputation.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a candidate with strong technical/scientific knowledge particularly in cleaning, microbial control, and validation in life science manufacturing to be credible to customers following training in all aspects of the company’s products.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Microbiology
• 5 to 10 years’ experience in the life sciences industry
• Fluent: English, and preferably French and German language skills
• Strong oral and written communications skills
• Ability to travel extensively and resident close to an international airport

In addition it would be advantageous to have experience in cleaning, microbial control, validation and CIP systems or manufacturing/validation experience in pharmaceutical/biotech processing areas including aseptic manufacturing.
