Woodfield Distribution (WDSrx) leased a facility for providing pharmaceutical logistics services in Ohio, the company announced in an Aug. 15, 2018 press release. The company distributes prescription and over-the-counter medications and related product categories; it also serves medical device manufacturers and human and animal health and wellness companies.
The long-term lease for a 72,312-ft2 facility in Lockbourne, Ohio enables WDSrx to offer warehousing, fulfillment, temperature regulated storage, e-commerce programs, special handling of controlled substances (CII-CV), and centralized options for packaging and labeling, call center campaigns, government pricing administration, financial services management, and reverse logistics. Operations at the new facility will begin immediately with future plans to develop a workforce of approximately 15 employees.
The Ohio expansion supports the WDSrx strategic plan to develop key locations in pharmaceutical hubs arounds the United States to streamline the supply chain between treatments and patients. According to WDSrx President Adam Runsdorf, “Our new facility reaches a greater population within a ten-hour drive than any other major metropolitan area in the country, increasing convenience for local clients and creating efficiencies for our customers based outside the region.
