Bioreactor for Mammalian Cell Culture
Bioreactor for Mammalian Cell Culture
The Allegro STR 200 single-use stirred tank bioreactor from Pall can be used for production-scale applications in working volumes between 60 L and 200 L. The fully configurable biocontainer has multiple ports and is suitable for production operations from simple batch to complex fed-batch applications. The biocontainer and baffled tote have a square design and bottom-mounted, large-format impeller with direct mechanical connection to the drive motor, which results in improved mixing and mass transfer characteristics for upflow or downflow operations. The temperature in the bioreactor is controlled with a heater and has the heat transfer capacity to heat a full 200-L load within 12 hours from 4 °C to 37 °C. According to the company, the cell growth rates and viabilities make the Allegro STR 200 bioreactor an efficient platform for mammalian cell culture in the pharmaceutical industry.
