Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group added platinum-cured silicone gaskets and platinum-cured silicone braided hoses for fluid path validation to its BioPure range.
Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group added platinum-cured silicone gaskets and platinum-cured silicone braided hoses for fluid path validation to its BioPure range. The technology of these components meets requirements of various biotechnology and pharmaceutical single-use applications, enabling users to simplify and expedite validation procedures.
Suitable for bioprocessing applications where fluid path connections are needed, the gaskets enable a smooth bore, contamination-free fluid path under clamping compression. With LOT numbering on each component, the gaskets include post-sterilized validation to current United States Pharmacopeia, European Pharmacopeia, and FDA standards and extractable data in line with BioPhorum Operations Group guidelines.
These mechanical seals are also ISO14644 Class 7 cleanroom manufactured and packed, compliant with ASME-BPE standards. Compatible with the brand’s existing range of connectors and clamps, the gaskets allow end users and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to connect single-use fluid paths. The gaskets are available in 10 sizes ranging from a half inch to eight inches unflanged, and in eight flanged size options from one to eight inches.
Additionally, the brand’s single- and double-braided silicone hoses are suitable for high pressure applications. The hoses offer adequate bend radius, while a continuously extruded silicone bore assures the integrity of the contacting fluid. According to the company, the hoses are also able to withstand repeated autoclave and sterilization processes.
Manufactured and packed within an ISO14644 Class 7 cleanroom environment, the hoses give users full batch traceability to raw material and are supported by industry leading validation and extractable data. A total of 10 inner diameter sizes for single-braided hoses are available from 0.125–1 in., while double braided hoses come in half-inch, three-quarter inch, and one-inch internal diameters.
