InformEx 2015, which will be held Feb. 3-5 at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, is an education and business-partnering event for the custom-, fine-, and specialty-chemical industries. The expo will feature two new “zones” this year. The cGMP Zone, which is in partnership with CPhI Worldwide, was designed for pharma buyers looking for cGMP CRO/CMO services, intermediates, APIs, and process chemical technologies. The Specialty Zone will be a focused area for custom, contract, and toll manufacturers serving specialty chemical industries. At the expo grand opening on Feb. 3, exhibitor and technology showcases will be featured along with a welcome reception for all guests.
Following the opening of the expo will be two days of educational sessions and networking events to encourage collaboration and growth within the industry. On Feb. 4, the day will begin at 9:00 am with a green chemistry session hosted by Cristina Amorim of ThermoFisher Scientific, and a session on the future of biopharma business with Bill Looney of Pharmaceutical Executive and Ben Comer of PwC. Sessions will continue throughout the day focusing on topics such as economic perspectives, agrochemicals, globally harmonized system of classification and labeling of chemicals, improving facility safety and security, biocatalysis, and patent trends.
On the final day of the expo, Feb. 5, Lloyd Colegrove of Dow Chemical and Mary Beth Seasholz of the Dow Analytic Technology Center will kick off the day with a session on Enterprise Manufacturing Intelligence, followed by Dr. Gurpreet Sandhu of Reva Pharmaceuticals with a presentation about contract manufacturing and sourcing trends in emerging markets, specifically India.
