The trade and packaging fair, which was originally scheduled for May 7–13, 2020 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be rescheduled for Feb. 25–March 3, 2021 in the same location.

Interpack 2020, organized by Messe Düsseldorf, announced on March 13, 2020, that the trade and packaging fair, which was originally scheduled for May 7–13, 2020 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will be rescheduled for Feb. 25–March 3, 2021 in the same location. The decision was made after consulting the crisis management team of the German Federal Government and examining the growing number of people infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), a Messe Düsseldorf press release said.

"The decision was taken in close consultation with our advisory boards and sponsoring associations," said Werner M. Dornscheidt, chairman of the board of management of Messe Düsseldorf, in the press release. "As [an industry] partner, we are currently doing everything in our power to reduce the economic losses suffered by our exhibitors.”

"The city of Düsseldorf is following the instructions of the state government. Our aim is to slow down the spread of the coronavirus so that the health system can continue to function properly," added Thomas Geisel, lord mayor of the state capital of Düsseldorf and chairman of the supervisory board of the Düsseldorf trade fair company, in the press release.
