After CPHI Milan drew more than 59,000 attendees in the fall of 2024, the event’s return to Germany for CPHI Frankfurt, to be held Oct. 28–30, 2025, aims to surpass that mark with more than 63,000 professionals from the bio/pharmaceutical industry expected to be present as the conference celebrates its 36th year (1).
For 2025, the three-day event will feature six content theatres and more than 2000 exhibitors, according to a press release (1). This includes expanded content and exhibitor zones that event organizer Informa Markets said reflect recent diversification in the industry, such as bioproduction, finished dosage formulation, drug delivery, and packaging, in addition to a traditional focus on APIs.
“CPHI is more than an event, it’s a global experience,” said Tara Dougal, event director, CPHI Frankfurt, in the release (1). “It’s the one place each year where the full pharmaceutical supply chain comes together to collaborate, build relationships, and get business done.”
Other feature zones newly added for this edition of CPHI Frankfurt, according to the press release, include areas supporting innovation and deeper engagement within certain sectors. To name two specific concentrations, artificial intelligence-powered drug development and sustainable pharmaceutical manufacturing will be spotlighted (1).
“The new zones are designed to keep pace with where the market is going,” said Dougal (1). “They’re a direct response to rising demand from both attendees and exhibitors for more focused, future-looking areas within the show.”
Also to be expected at the conference are happy hour networking events as well as the CPHI Awards and Celebration, which recognizes leaders in 14 categories including Women in Pharma and Future Leader of the Year (1).
Both of those aforementioned categories were new in 2024 (2). The new Future Leader category was awarded to Megan Smyth of Almac Sciences for rising through five levels in her seven years at the company and for being awarded a UK Research and Innovation Future Leaders Fellowship.
“[Smyth] has built an innovative flow chemistry platform at Almac and there is a clear strategic alignment between her career intentions and the future requirement for leadership within the company,” CPHI stated in a press release at the time (3).
The other new category, Woman of the Year, went to Julia Tsetis, CEO of OFET Pharmaceutical Group, for her commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility (2).
“In her role as CEO of the OFET Pharmaceutical Group she is regarded as a true visionary and trailblazer in the pharmaceutical industry and has left an indelible mark on the global healthcare landscape,” the press release stated (3).
CPHI Frankfurt is the largest of 10 international events now in CPHI’s portfolio, the press release said (1). The newest, CPHI Middle East, launched in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in 2024 and will return in 2026.
