Eyes on Madrid for CPhI 2012

Next year will see CPhI Worldwide and its collocated events return to Madrid (Spain) at the Feria de Madrid. The show will run from 9–11 October so keep these dates free! This is the third time Madrid had played host to CPhI and, according to the organisers, the city is a popular destination for industry events because of the access it offers to the Southern European markets.

“Madrid has proven to be one of the most well-received venues in the history of the events,” Haf Cennydd, Global Brand Director of ICSE, P-MEC and Innopack, said in a press statement. “81% of 2009 Madrid attendees valued their experience as 8 out of 10 or higher and this, coupled with the pharmaceutical industry’s steady return to “business as usual encouraged our selection of Madrid as the 2012 destination. The location not only provides attendees with exceptional access to the global pharmaceutical market, but also allows attendees the opportunity to do business in an environment rich in cultural history, while enjoying the city’s warm climate.”

The Pharmaceutical Technology Europe team attended the 2009 CPhI event in Madrid and found the city to be a brilliant venue. And, of course, we loved the Spanish weather!

As for the event itself, the organisers are hoping for the biggest show yet as the numbers have grown year on year, with 2010 seeing a 45% increase in attendance compared with 2009 numbers. Full details have yet to be announced, but visitors can expect networking sessions, midday lunch briefings, pre-show conferences and more.
