FDA is launching a new crowdsourcing challenge to solicit ideas for pediatric research.
On August 2, 2021, the FDA’s Division of Pediatrics and Maternal Health (DPMH) launched the “Send Your Pediatric Research Questions to the FDA” campaign. The goal of this challenge is to crowdsource new ideas for internal pediatric research.
FDA’s pooled analyses have investigated relationships between biomarkers and different clinical endpoints in regulatory submissions, explored the use of novel trial designs in small populations, and deepened understanding of how adult efficacy data can be extrapolated. The DPMH hopes to accelerate findings of this nature through the crowdsource campaign.
Following the end of the challenge, all submissions will be reviewed and the DPMH may select one or more questions for future use in internal research projects. However, those who submit these questions will not be granted access or be allowed to collaborate in these research studies.
Submissions must be received by August 20, 2021. For more information about submission guidelines, visit DPMH’s site at https://shareyourvoice.ideascalegov.com.
