Control Development's (South Bend, IN, www.controldevelopment.com) blend uniformity and dryer monitor consists of a NIR spectrometer, a sampling head, computer, and software. The unit is based on 256-element, thermoelectric cooled InGaAs arrays, which are coupled to the sample head through a fiber optic bundle. A built-in line source calibrates the spectrometer for wavelength continuously and automatically, ensuring wavelength accuracy at all times. The system is battery operated and is enabled for 802.11-g wireless communication.
