ICS, a part of AmerisourceBergen, announced on Aug. 29, 2018 the opening of a third-party logistics pharmaceutical distribution center in Lockbourne, OH, which will serve as the flagship location. The largest facility in the company’s network, the 350,000-sq.-ft. distribution center will feature operations tools and technology and a logistics system to accommodate products of different sizes, temperatures, and storage needs. The facility is a certified Foreign Trade Zone Solution, which allows manufacturers to store products awaiting FDA approval in a duty-free environment.
The emergence of high-value products such as cell and gene therapies has increased the demand for rigorous and customized storage solutions, ICS reported in a press statement. The distribution center will enable the company to meet the needs for time-sensitive and ultra-frozen capabilities.
With the addition of the new facility in Ohio, ICS reports it has more than 925,000-sq.-ft .of managed warehouse at four locations within the United States.
