Laurus Synthesis Launches New Facility in Woburn, MA
The investments made in analytical and process development equipment will enable Laurus Synthesis to offer chemistry services to its clients.
Laurus Synthesis has opened a new, state-of-the-art facility in Woburn, MA. Spanning more than 10,000 square feet, the site features large laboratory space with appropriate air and water treatment capabilities, as well as offices and administrative space. According the company’s president, Stuart Needleman, the investments made in analytical and process development equipment will enable Laurus Synthesis to offer chemistry services to its clients.
The grand opening event was hosted by Satyanarayana Chava, founder and CEO, Laurus Labs, India; Chandrakanth Chereddi, vice-president, Synthesis Business Unit, Laurus Labs, India; Stuart Needleman, president, Laurus Synthesis Inc., Woburn, MA; and Kevin Duffield, vice-president operations, Woburn, MA. The event was attended by approximately 50 executives from pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Tours of the facilities were held for visitors to learn more about company’s offerings. There was a networking opportunity at an afternoon reception.
Bob Coughlin, president and CEO of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council (MassBio), welcomed Laurus Synthesis to their Woburn location, situated near the hub and heart of the pharmaceutical and biotechnical community in the Boston area. MassBio is a not-for-profit organization that represents more than 600 biotech companies.
Laurus Synthesis, a US affiliate of Laurus Labs based in India, offers specialized laboratory services that assist clients in advancing their concepts to the next milestone including process development, method development, impurity identification services, and route selection for APIs. Laurus Synthesis also provides intermediates and key starting materials, as well as the collaborative service capabilities of Laurus Labs in India, including smooth technical transition for scale-up and commercialization.
